Make sure that the Cellular data switch is turned on. For mail messages to be received, the Inbox folder must have a checkmark next to it. Verify that email synchronization is turned on. On the home screen, swipe right to open the BlackBerry Hub.

If your messages still aren't syncing, try searching the BlackBerry Knowledge Base. In the device settings, tap Data usage.

In the Server settings section, change your password, and then tap Save. If you recently changed an account password, make sure that you update the password in the Accounts settings on your BlackBerry device. Try removing the email account from the BlackBerry Hub, and then re-adding it. This test will confirm if you have bi-directional data communication on your smartphone, which is required to send and receive email.

Check the synchronization interval. If the date and time are incorrect, fix them, and then test to see if you can send or receive email. Check your network connection settings to make sure that your device is connected to a Wi-Fi or mobile network.

Even though icons don't appear on your home screen, you can still access your messages directly from the BlackBerry Hub. If not, contact your BlackBerry administrator for further assistance. Open Outlook to check if the issue occurs. If you use a work account that is supported by a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, your administrator might not allow you to send text messages, but you might still be able to receive text messages.
